Q&A
- WHAT AGE? There is no specific age limit, however many classes do require fine motor skills and safety adherence. The classes are best suited for ages 8+
- HOW LONG? Each “adventure” (class) is scheduled for two hours to give time for creativity. If we finish early, we have games to play and ideas to sketch.
- WHAT TO BRING? Bring a water bottle & a (non-sticky/non-nut) snack if desired. All supplies are included unless otherwise noted for specific classes. You may bring your own 100% cotton apron or other item for patching if you do not plan on purchasing one. Consider bringing cash/venmo for the “S’more Store” which will have items such as aprons, hats, patches, and other art for optional purchase.
- WHAT IS THE CLASS SIZE? I prioritize small class sizes. Most classes will have 3-6 students.
- WHERE IS THE CLASS? Several local west-metro businesses such as coffee shops and book stores have kindly offered their spaces. Other locations are also possible – please reach out to verify options.
- HOW MUCH? Class costs vary based on size, adventure, location, etc. Please reach out for pricing.
- CAN WE DONATE SUPPLIES? Yes, please! Donations of the following supplies are greatly appreciated (used is fine!):
- Block printing ink (fabric)
- Ink rollers
- Linocut rubber
- Fabric scissors
- Double-sided iron-on adhesive
- Wool roving
- Needle-felting needles & handles
- Fabric markers or paint
- Deep frames (plaque/wood-board craft frames) **
- Clear Hot Glue & hot glue guns
- HOW IS THE CLASS STRUCTURED?
- Compass Questions: Each class will begin with 1-3 short get-to-know you “Compass Questions” relating to the theme (For example, in a “Water Wonderful World” class, we may ask: “What is something wonderful you noticed today?”).
- Orientation: We will breifly cover any background, history, and safety information.
- Adventure: The bulk of the class will be diving into the creative process. If we wrap up early, we will spend the final part of the class doing up-cycle themed games or sketching ideas for another adventure.
- Backroads: (If doing a full “Camp Creative Compass” session) Prior to each class there will be optional “backroad” recommended experiences students can do on their own to enhance the class (for example, visiting a library before the book binding class).
- DO YOU OFFER ONLINE CLASSES? Not right now, but feel free to send an inquiry if interested. There is, however, a work-book NOW AVAILABLE.
Have more questions? Don’t hesitate to reach out.
